The basics
What is Palabrify?#
Palabrify is a vocabulary app for iPhone, iPad and Android. You save a word you meet, by sharing it from another app, taking a photo of text or typing it, and Palabrify builds a flashcard and exercises from it.
It also has ready-made courses from A1 to C1, reviewed by people, and a web app for teachers.
Which languages can I learn?#
English (US or UK), Spanish (Spain or Latin America), French, German, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese.
You learn from your own language: you can choose from 36 native languages, and the app itself is available in 21 languages.
How does Palabrify decide when I review a word?#
It uses spaced repetition based on the SM-2 algorithm. Each word has its own schedule in each direction, into the language you learn and back, so it returns just before you are likely to forget it.
Which exercises are there?#
Flashcard, Fill the gap, Build the sentence, Build the word, Type the answer, Letter Fill, Word matching, Word search, Crossword and Picture labeling.
Which devices does it run on?#
iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later, and Android devices with Android 9 or later. You practise in the apps. Teachers manage their classes in the web app at app.palabrify.com.
Does it work offline?#
Yes. You can review and practise the words you already have without a connection. Adding new words and building sets needs one.
How is Palabrify different from Duolingo or Anki?#
Duolingo takes you through its own course in a fixed order, and in Anki you make your own cards and tune their schedule. In Palabrify you bring the words you meet and it builds the exercises, and its ready-made courses are reviewed by people.

Price and plans
Is Palabrify free?#
Yes. The app, every ready-made course and every exercise are free, and there are no ads. The free plan includes 20 credits a month for your own words: one credit adds a word or builds a set.

Pro is a subscription for people who add many of their own words.

In the US App Store, Pro costs $8.99 a month or $59.99 a year. Your store shows the price in your currency.
Is there a plan for teachers?#
Yes. The Teacher plan includes everything in Pro, plus class groups, lessons scheduled ahead, audio narration for reading texts and 1,000 credits a month.
You start it on the web with a free 7-day trial, or 30 days with an invitation code. No card is needed for the trial.

Which ready-made courses are there?#
Four courses, each from A1 to C1:
- Spanish for English speakers: 149 vocabulary sets, 121 grammar lessons
- English for Polish speakers: 142 vocabulary sets, 118 grammar lessons
- Spanish for Polish speakers: 149 vocabulary sets, 118 grammar lessons
- English for Spanish speakers: 142 vocabulary sets, 124 grammar lessons
All of them are free, on both plans.
Who writes the courses?#
Each set is drafted with the help of AI, then reviewed by people: for its level, for natural example sentences and for exercises with exactly one right answer.
Can I look at a course before installing the app?#
Yes. Every course has free pages on this site with the words, a quiz you can check in your browser and a printable PDF test. You then practise the same sets in the app, with reviews scheduled for you.
For teachers
Can I use Palabrify with my class?#
Yes. In the web app at app.palabrify.com you create a group, and students join it in the app with your class code. You share sets, follow each student's progress, send reminders and print tests and worksheets.

What do my students need?#
The free Palabrify app on an iPhone, iPad or Android device, and the class code you give them. Students don't need a paid plan.
Privacy and account
Does Palabrify show ads or track me?#
There are no ads. The apps use Firebase Analytics to see which features are used, as described in the privacy policy. This website starts analytics only after you agree in the cookie banner.
How do I delete my account?#
In the app, open Settings and choose Delete account.
